Hardware designed and manufactured for space flight applications are required to endure vibration and thermal cyclic environments that may exceed the stresses that terrestrial based hardware experiences. In order to ensure that space flight hardware can endure the harsh environment of space, the IPC has developed an addendum to J-STD-001 to address these additional requirements.

Who Should Attend:
Engineers, trainers and technicians that are involved in manufacturing space flight hardware assemblies and currently hold J-STD-001 certification will benefit from this course.

J-STD-001 CIT certification is a prerequisite for J-STD-001 Space Addendum CIT certification.

J-STD-001 CIS certification in the mandatory Module 1 and at least one of the optional Modules 2 through 5 are prerequisites for J-STD-001 Space Addendum (Module 6) CIS certification.

Attending students will receive a comprehensive understanding of the differences between the requirements for J-STD-001 Class 3 assemblies (High Performance Electronic Products) and assemblies subject to the requirements of J-STD-001 Space Addendum.

Students will be able to apply the knowledge gained from this course to ensure that manufacturing processes and assemblies meet the requirements of J-STD-001 Space Addendum. Upon successful completion, students also receive a certificate valid for two years.
